Frequently asked questions.

A WISP is a provider that delivers internet connectivity to customers using wireless communication technologies instead of traditional wired connections like cable or fiber-optic. Wireless internet uses radio waves to transmit data between the WISP’s access points and the customer’s equipment, such as a wireless router or modem. The access points receive signals from the customer’s devices and transmit data back and forth wirelessly.

Typically, you will need a wireless router. Zeta can provide one for an additional monthly fee.

Absoultely! Online gaming is heavily dependent on latency. Typical latency on our network is around 20 milliseconds which is similar to Fiber and Cable networks. Streaming video is more bandwidth dependent. A high definition (1080p) video stream typically uses around 5Mbps. Ultra High Definition (4k) streams use a bit more and the typical requirement by most providers is 25Mbps.

Our service is truely unlimited. We do not impose any types of bandwidth restrictions, or “slow you down” based on usage.

No! Our service is month to month, the only requirement is a 30 day notice prior to cancellation.

This question depends on usage in your household or business. Here are some average bandwidth figures for the most popular applications:

  • Web Browsing 1-5Mbps
  • Online Gaming 5Mbps
  • Voice over Internet Protocol 1Mbps
  • HD Video Streaming 5Mbps
  • 4K Video Streaming 25Mbps
  • Email & Texting 1Mbps
  • Online Conferencing 1-5Mbps
  • Smart Appliances 1Mbps
  • Security Cameras 5+Mbps (depends on quantity of cameras). This is typically upload bandwidth.
